Crypto hacks on exchanges and wallet drains have cost people millions of dollars, leaving many searching for a safer way to buy, sell, and safely store crypto.
Recognizing this growing concern, our clients have expressed interest in non-IRA accounts that mirror the same service, security, and reliability of our Crypto IRA accounts.
Now, we’re making this happen.
We are excited to introduce the Premium Custody Accounts (PCA) - a new way to buy, sell, and custody crypto in a non-IRA account at iTrustCapital.
What is a Premium Custody Account?
A Premium Custody Account is a non-IRA (non-retirement) account that allows clients to buy and sell crypto 24/7. Unlike our Crypto IRAs, PCAs have no annual contribution limits, and transactions are taxable.
Premium Custody Accounts also differ from other types of crypto accounts. This new product offering utilizes a closed-loop system designed to reduce the risk of compromised accounts being completely drained. Additionally, all client USD and crypto assets are held 1:1, off-balance sheet, and held FBO with third-party US banks and custodians.
PCA Features
Closed-Loop System
iTrustCapital’s closed-loop system significantly reduces the risk of client assets being transferred to unauthorized crypto wallets or bank accounts.
- USD-Only Deposits: PCA accounts only accept USD deposits from the account owner's US bank.
- No Crypto Deposits or in-kind Transfers: Digital assets cannot be used to fund a PCA account (USD only).
- USD-Only Withdrawals: Withdrawals are only allowed in USD, directly to the account owner's bank on record.
- No Crypto Withdrawals: Digital assets cannot be withdrawn, transferred to external wallets, used for payments, sent to personal wallets, or other exchanges or platforms.
24/7 Buying & Selling
Users can buy and sell digital assets anytime, 24/7, 365 days a year. Whether you’re on the golf course, at your child’s weekend sports event, or checking your account late at night, you will always have secure access. This flexibility gives you more opportunities to react to the market and manage your account on your schedule.
Dozens of Crypto Assets
With a Premium Custody Account, clients can buy, sell, and safely custody dozens of digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Cardano, Sui, Ondo and more.

Assets Maintained 1:1 Off-Balance Sheet
All client assets are held 1:1 off-balance sheet, meaning they are never leveraged, loaned out, or commingled with business operations. This ensures that clients retain full ownership of their assets at all times. Unlike platforms that use clients' funds for operational purposes, PCA’s structure prioritizes clear oversight and asset protection, reinforcing trust and long-term stability for clients.
Tax Reporting
Clients have access to completed tax reports for simplified tax filings.
US-Based Live Client Support
Clients receive US-based live support for account setup, funding, and general inquiries. Unlike platforms that rely on bots with automated responses, iTrustCapital connects clients directly with knowledgeable support specialists to assist with their needs.
Fees
PCA fees are similar to the 1% transaction fees for our Crypto IRAs. Please see further details here.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: What is the Premium Custody Account (PCA)?
A: The Premium Custody Account (PCA) is a non-tax-advantaged investment account that allows you to buy and sell digital assets with enhanced security features and institutional-level custody.
PCAs are intended for individuals who want to allocate long-term into digital assets. PCAs are not geared for people who want to move funds frequently on and off the platform.
Q2: How secure is PCA?
A: PCAs utilize regulated third-party US Banks and Institutional Custodians to ensure top-tier custody for digital assets and USD, setting it apart in the marketplace. Additionally, crypto assets cannot be transferred to or from external wallets, adding an extra layer of protection.
Q3: What fees are associated with PCA?
A: PCA fees are similar to the 1% transaction fees for our Crypto IRAs. Please see further details here.
Q4: Is there any support available for PCA clients?
A: Yes, PCA clients receive US-based live client support, which includes assistance with account setup, funding, transactions, and other inquiries. Live customer experience (CX) support, based in Irvine, CA, is available to ensure a seamless experience.
Q5: How does the crypto-to-fiat feature work?
A: Users can fund their PCA with USD from an external US bank account and instantly use it to buy crypto. Likewise, users can liquidate their crypto holdings into USD at any time, providing easy access to funds.
Q6: Is the PCA suitable for beginners?
A: Yes, the PCA is designed with ease of use in mind, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced investors. The platform’s transparency and support features make managing digital assets straightforward and accessible.
Q7: Can I send or receive crypto in my PCA?
A: No, you cannot send or receive crypto with the PCA. This “closed-loop system” ensures that accounts can’t be drained of assets in the event an account is compromised.
We built this offering because many clients, unfortunately, have been victims of phishing attacks and/or social engineering hacks, and often lose funds from their exchange accounts as a result. iTrustCapital IRA and PCA accounts cannot be drained in this manner. PCA accounts only permit USD funding and withdrawals to and from the client US bank account on record.
Q8: Can I create multiple PCA accounts like the Crypto IRA product?
A: No, only one PCA account per user is permitted. It’s different from Crypto IRAs in having multiple accounts because there are different types of IRAs people can open (Traditional, Roth, SEP), each having unique tax benefits.
Q9: How can I fund my PCA?
A: You can fund your PCA either ACH and/or Bank wire.
Q10: When starting, is there a minimum amount I need to fund
A: Yes, the minimum to start is $2,500.
Q11: How long do USD withdrawals take?
A: Withdrawals take 3-10 business days to process.
Q12: Can I buy precious metals (physical gold & silver) in my PCA?
A: No, you can only buy and sell the available crypto options at this time.
Q13: Can I name a beneficiary to my Premium Custody Account?
A: No. Premium Custody Accounts, which are Non-IRA Accounts, do not permit account holders to name a beneficiary.
