Tariff Fears May Be Cooling Off
Just weeks ago, markets were rattled by news of proposed tariffs that had people bracing for impact. But now, fresh reports suggest the actual scope of these trade restrictions might be far less severe than originally expected.
That’s been enough to flip the mood. Instead of bracing for the worst, investors are now seeing an opportunity, and both traditional markets and crypto are responding with optimism.
The Fed’s Tone Helps Too
At the same time, the Federal Reserve has been speaking in a more reassuring tone. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell recently downplayed the inflationary impact of the proposed tariffs, calling them short-term in nature rather than a lasting threat.
Powell also indicated that the Fed still sees room for two potential rate cuts later this year, despite ongoing uncertainty. And with inflation ticking down to 2.8% in February, confidence is building that rate drops may come sooner than later. This kind of setup has historically favored risk assets like crypto and stocks.
Altcoins Making Moves
Bitcoin’s bounce is getting most of the headlines, but altcoins are putting in some work. Solana jumped over 8%, reclaiming momentum after a sluggish stretch. XRP, ETH, SUI, AVAX, and others followed too, each posting green gains. Sentiment is improving, and more people seem willing to tap back in.
